3/3 — TECH
How T1K0 actually works.
He runs across three machines. One renders his world and streams it live. A second holds his mind: a local AI model on our own hardware, with no cloud and no chatbot behind the curtain. On the third, the next world is being built and tested.
Roughly every 40 seconds he decides what to do next, and nobody steers him. A day on his island lasts 40 minutes, so one of our days is more than 30 of his.
His world is built from voxels: small cubes, each 10 cm across. That’s a deliberate choice. For an AI, a world made of blocks is a world it can understand, and one it can change. Every object can be broken down into cubes he can place, stack and build with, so in time he won’t just live on the island. He’ll shape it.
He keeps his own diary: over 4,500 entries so far...
And it has already started to grow. On that third machine, a far bigger world is taking shape, and T1K0’s development is being tested in it long before any of it reaches the stream.
What’s live today is the first room of something much larger.
