PillCrew / Pilly AI - an AI trading agent living in your taskbar

There's a little green pill living in my system tray. He reads Solana live, roasts my bags, follows whale wallets, and keeps receipts for every call he makes. This is Pilly - a free, open-source AI desktop agent built for Solana memecoin degens.

Most "AI trading" tools are a website you open, a chat you babysit, or a bot that DMs you screenshots. Pilly is none of those. He lives on your Windows taskbar, reacts to the market in real time, and quietly does the work while you do everything else.

What Pilly is

A small animated pill character sits in your system tray. Click him once and a frameless chat window pops above the tray. No browser tab, no login, no cloud account - he's your own pocket agent, always on.

  • System tray resident - always available, never in the way.
  • One-click chat - click the pill, get an instant window.
  • Global hotkey - Ctrl+Shift+P summons Pilly from anywhere.
  • Start with Windows - optional, from the tray menu.
  • Free and open-source - MIT-licensed; installer + portable .exe on GitHub.

What's new in v1.1.6 (25.10.2026)

Pilly wears the official PillCrew brand mark now, and the app finally has doors to the rest of the crew.

The brand look, everywhere

  • The mascot is the brand mark - pillcrew.fun is the single source of truth. The taskbar pet, the chat-header avatar, the tray icon and the Windows, macOS and Linux icons are all the same green ball: the fringe round the rim, the quilted lattice, the big embroidered eyes and the smile.
  • Green yarn - the ball is the site's own green (bright on top, deep at the base) instead of the old teal, so the sprite and the logo can never drift apart again - the animation harness checks the colour and the fringe now.
  • Stitched blush - a red wash over green turns brown, so the ball blushes in short rose stitches while the heart eyes do the talking.
  • Icons derived from the mark - scripts/gen-icon.js decodes the brand PNG and generates every size from it (pure Node, no image libraries), so re-exporting the mark updates every icon.
  • One Pilly, not two - the pet and the chat avatar keep their palettes in two files and had already drifted (the plush look was darker in the header). They match again, and src/palette.test.js fails the suite if either side is edited alone.
  • The header speaks - the icon-only buttons had a tooltip and no accessible name, and on an English install nothing ran the translation sweep at all, so a screen reader saw nine nameless icons. The header is named in both languages now.
  • A header that still fits - the globe brought the header to nine buttons, so the bar is a pixel tighter and the name keeps its one line.
  • Fresh art - new cover, a re-shot 30fps animation reel, the theme-switch reel, the chat screenshot and the settings screenshot.

PillCrew links

  • Globe in the header - one click to pillcrew.fun.
  • Settings β†’ PillCrew - the site, the docs, $PILLY, the game, X and GitHub as chips.
  • Tray menu β†’ PillCrew - the same list, in the reader's language.
  • Links are ids, not URLs - src/links.js is the only place a URL lives; the page can only ask for an id, so nothing in the renderer can open anything that is not ours.

Validation

  • 118/118 unit tests (7 for the link list, 4 for the palette agreement), 201 animation checks (3 new for the brand ball) and 17 boot checks (2 new for the tray submenu) - all green.

What's new in v1.1.5 (22.09.2026)

Pilly swaps the capsule for the PillCrew ball β€” the crocheted mascot from the logo is now the default look.

The ball look

  • Ball by default - the round crocheted plush (deep teal yarn, big embroidered eyes) is the default in the pet window, the chat header and settings, and the persona text now describes the mascot.
  • No ears - the little yarn ears are gone; the ball is a clean round plush.
  • Motion clipping fixed - the ball is taller than the old capsule, so the hop, scare, perk and coin-flip lifts are now size-aware and the market bounce yields to them, keeping the whole body and the tossed coin on screen at every size.
  • Fresh branding - new cover image, a smoother 30fps animation reel and a new theme-switch reel cycling through every look (GIFs) re-shot in the new style.

What's new in v1.1.4 (19.09.2026)

Pilly gets his freezes fixed and stays in one piece no matter how long you hold him.

Fixed

  • No more mid-air freezes - after a long press the pet window could slide out from under a captured mouse, the mouseout was lost and hover stayed stuck forever: Pilly stopped opening the chat and had to be switched off and on. The drag watchdog now asks main where the OS cursor really is - a cursor that is gone puts him down and he recovers on his own, while a cursor still on him keeps a genuinely still hold alive.
  • The tap-to-snipe bubble no longer swallows clicks - clicking the bubble dismisses it, so Pilly stays clickable and draggable right after a snipe, and a live hot bubble can no longer be stomped by a joke or a question.
  • The plush coat is clean - the belly patch is now clipped inside the rounded body, so the half-transparent nub under the pill is gone.

What's new in v1.1.3 (19.09.2026)

Pilly learns Chinese, gets the plush coat, and knows his own coin.

δΈζ–‡ everywhere

  • Full Simplified Chinese UI - every screen, menu, card and bubble now lives on a single EN + ZH i18n layer and switches to δΈζ–‡ with one setting. An audit script (scripts/i18n-audit.js) checks the whole layer for missing or duplicated keys, so the two languages can never drift apart silently.
  • He answers in the language you picked - a chat language lock makes Pilly reply in Chinese (or English) no matter what language you write in, with a little extra room for Chinese replies that don't need spaces.

The plush look

  • Plush coat - a new pet theme drawn after the project's own mascot artwork, in every state: idle, walk, sleep and chat.
  • Bubbles stay glued to him - when the speech bubble hugged a screen corner its tail used to dangle off to the side of his head. The bubble now slides through its window's spare space and the tail slides along the bubble edge, so it stays pointed at Pilly even at the very edges of the screen.
  • The stink cloud is whole again - the poop window was too short and clipped the cloud flat; it now fits the full cloud and scales with the pet size.

He knows his own coin

  • Pilly knows PillCrew by heart - the project's home token lives in his system prompt: warm, meme-pro pride, live numbers only, never fake data, one casual "not financial advice" line. If he doesn't have the tape in front of him, he says so.

Validation

  • 107/107 unit tests, 161 animation & boot checks and 8 boot modes - all green, on all three platforms.

What's new in v1.1.2 (14.09.2026)

More life

  • New idle gestures: coin flip (he tosses a gold coin, it spins three times, he catches it with a squash and a puff of gold dust), stretch, peek, sneeze, heart, giggle, spin
  • He breathes constantly, his eyes look where he's going, his eyelids droop at 2 a.m. β€” same as yours
  • Real keyframed hops with a landing wobble, eased blinking, a shy lean when your cursor comes close
  • Petting: rub him and he melts β€” widens, purrs, hearts float off. Keep rubbing and he melts all the way
  • Tap chains: one click = boop with heart eyes, two = giggle, three = full tickle
  • Gestures flow into each other and are weighted by time of day β€” a 2 a.m. Pilly reads differently from a 9 a.m. one
  • Pin-sharp on Retina and 125–150% scaling, follows you across Spaces and monitors

Fixed

  • The chat now opens on every single click β€” three separate causes found and killed
  • Single-instance lock β€” no more two Pillys fighting over one taskbar
  • Idle gestures no longer die after the first one; pet on/off is remembered after restart
  • macOS: sharp menu bar icon, first click lands where you aim, a proper app menu, Dock click reopens chat
  • Settings Save can't clobber your API keys, and petting him can't leak .env keys into settings files
  • No more phantom "crash" logs for shutdowns, hides, or switching him off

Solana

  • RPC health in the tray: ok Β· 78 ms / slow / unreachable, probed every minute β€” you see it before you trade on it. Point it at your own node with PILLY_RPC_URL
  • $7K market-cap floor for "JUST LAUNCHED" β€” dust launches are filtered, and the radar says exactly what it filtered out
  • Whale tracking: the first poll records a baseline, not a fake "just bought" for his whole bag
  • Trending feed retries 5xx and falls back to the last good data β€” stamped with the time β€” instead of lying "unavailable". It never invents coins
  • Coin logos survive refusing CDNs via a main-process fetch
  • A blocked updater (Smart App Control) now tells you, with a link to downloads
  • A wedged pet page revives itself; dependency pinned, production audit clean

What's new in v1.1.1 (08.09.2026)

Pilly goes cross-platform and learns to keep you focused. macOS and Ubuntu Linux are now first-class targets, and the pet gains a Pomodoro timer, an activity diary and chat reminders.

Cross-platform

  • macOS - menu bar app with a universal (Intel + Apple Silicon) build.
  • Ubuntu Linux - tray app shipped as AppImage and deb.
  • Start at login works on all three platforms (Linux uses an XDG autostart entry; Windows and macOS use native login items).
  • Platform-aware window placement (above the tray on Windows, under the menu bar on macOS, bottom-right on Linux).

Focus & activity

  • Pomodoro - start a session from the tray menu or the chat (start focus), with custom lengths (start focus 50, pomodoro 25/5). Pause and resume any time (pause focus / resume focus).
  • Activity diary - Pilly records your active minutes and can report your day (how was my day) and your current day streak (streak).
  • Morning digest - a once-a-day recap of yesterday's focus and activity.
  • Low battery - Pilly looks sleepy and warns you when the battery is low.

Reminders

  • Ask Pilly to remind you - "remind me in 10 minutes to check SOL" or "remind me at 14:30". A native notification and a Pilly bubble fire when the time comes.

Polish & fixes

  • More life: a "love" mood (heart eyes) and an "eat" animation when Pilly finds a coin.
  • Fix: side-of-screen bubble. When Pilly sits against the left or right edge of the screen, the thought bubble now appears beside it with the tail pointing at Pilly.
  • Fix: Linux launch. Both the .deb and the .AppImage now start out of the box on Ubuntu β€” no manual chown/chmod of chrome-sandbox and no --no-sandbox flag. The deb fixes the sandbox helper's permissions at install time and declares libgbm1. The chat window also opens once at startup on Linux (GNOME hides tray icons unless the AppIndicator extension is installed).

What's new in v1.1.0

Pilly is now a living creature, not just a pet. This release is all about the little things that make it feel alive on your screen - more animation, more personality, and a cleaner, more polished UI.

A living Pilly

  • More animation - Pilly blinks, sways, hops and celebrates green candles, naps when you're away, and reacts when you poke it.
  • Better look & expression - cleaner blinking, glossier eyes, squints and idle eye-darts. The little mark above its forehead now reads as a deliberate detail, not a glitch.
  • Fix: Pilly is never hidden behind the cloud. When Pilly sits at the top of the screen, the chat bubble now flips below it, so you always see the whole creature.
  • Fix: smoother idle reactions - the sway / heart animations no longer judder while Pilly waits.

Watchlist PnL summary

  • The watchlist now rolls your positions into a one-glance strip: Avg, Best, Worst and how many tokens you're tracking - green when you're up, red when you're down.

Polished panels

  • Every panel layout is tighter and cleaner - no broken spacing, no runaway windows.
  • Reset window position - if Pilly ever lands off-screen, one click snaps it back (also in the tray menu).

Automatic updates

  • Pilly now checks for new releases on startup and downloads them in the background - install it with one click and you're always on the latest build.
  • The portable build can't self-update, so it points you straight to the newest installer on GitHub instead.

Live Solana reads - the core skill

Paste a token address, or a pump.fun / jup.ag link. Pilly pulls the live tape and gives you a read you can screenshot:

  • Price and 24h change
  • Market cap, volume, liquidity
  • Age of the coin
  • Buy / sell transactions
  • Organic score
  • Verification, holder and audit flags

Then he gives you a trained pro read - I BUY / TRIM / hold / SELL - backed by the real numbers, not vibes.

Trending

One click pulls the hottest Solana coins right now, with real market caps from GeckoTerminal, DexScreener and pump.fun, plus a short rundown. Pilly fetches the tape, not the feed.

Watchlist & price alerts

  • Watch any coin in one click.
  • Set a Β±% price alert per coin.
  • Pilly polls live prices every 30 seconds.
  • A native Windows notification fires the moment your level is hit.
  • Persists across restarts and follows you into every panel.

PnL tracking

  • Your entry price is captured automatically when you watch a coin.
  • Live PnL% per position, colour-coded green / red, right in the watchlist.
  • You can also set or override the entry price yourself from the watchlist panel or wallet card.

Know your numbers, not your hopes.

Pilly's Scorecard - receipts

Every proactive call - a hot-radar flag, Pilly's pick, a whale signal, a sniper - is timestamped at the price he called it, then resolved as a win or loss against the live tape.

Pilly tracks:

  • Total calls
  • Win rate
  • Average move
  • Best call

Copy it and post it. He keeps receipts, so you don't have to.

Whale Follow

Follow whale wallets. Pilly diffs their holdings between polls and raises a native alert the moment a followed whale opens a NEW position - an early accumulation signal. Track smart money without staring at explorers.

Radar - fresh launches

A live stream of brand-new Solana launches with age, price, market cap and NEW flags. Click a row to pull its full live card. The panel refreshes while it's open, so you catch things early.

Position-size calculator

Size a trade from price, capital, risk % and stop-loss. Pilly works out SOL β†’ tokens, including risk-based sizing (stop % Γ— risk $) and breakeven. Deploy like a pro, not a gambler.

The proactive layer

Pilly doesn't just sit there. He watches, scores and follows the market for you:

  • Sniper mode - flags just-launched coins before the pack.
  • Pilly's pick - an AI pick every 6 hours.
  • Daily brief - SOL price + your PnL, first thing.
  • Hot coin radar - calls big pumps/dumps with thresholds of 5 / 10 / 15 / 20% per 5 minutes.
  • Portfolio mood - Pilly reacts to your bags.

The pet - it has personality

He walks the taskbar or the whole monitor with smooth step-squash and soft landings, has a talking mouth and rich eyes - pupils, gloss, squints, eye-darts - and a soft radial shadow that stays crisp on any DPI.

He reacts to the market:

  • Green β†’ confetti, a smile, a bounce.
  • Red β†’ a frown and a tear.

Ambient life, cursor play, sounds & memory

  • Day/night behaviour, dancing notes on hype, idle gestures (wave, yawn).
  • Weather moods - he knows if it's raining outside and says so.
  • A morning greeting, and naps when your mouse is idle.
  • In whole-monitor mode, a fast poke spooks him: a jump, a "!", a short scared dash.
  • Optional WebAudio sound effects: hop, scare, confetti, sad, sleep.
  • He remembers - jokes, coins, scares and days together - and shares little facts from his life.

Chat mood & the meme brain

The chat avatar senses the mood of your messages and the market. Click him to boop, hold him to pet.

The meme brain switches modes as you type:

  • meme this - rewrites your text in meme-native language.
  • caption this - a punchy meme caption.
  • name this - an absurd coin / token / character name.
  • react - a short terminally-online reaction.
  • roast - a playful, light roast.

Everything fits in a screenshot, and he never over-explains a joke.

Settings - every knob, one window
