Lead at Amazon from Day One
The Pathways Operations Leadership Development Program puts MBA and master’s graduates on an accelerated path to senior leadership. You’ll manage teams, deliver for customers, and drive operational outcomes across the Amazon fulfillment and delivery network. This leadership development program is built for candidates ready to own results from their first day on site.

What is Pathways?
Amazon Pathways is a program designed for graduates ready to lead from day one. Every day, you’ll make decisions that affect your teams and the millions of customers you serve. You’ll determine how your teams operate, how problems get solved, and how your site delivers for customers.
You’ll manage a team at your assigned site within the Amazon operations network, with increasing scope and responsibility as you progress.
This is not a rotational program; it’s your first step toward senior operations leadership, built on real ownership and measurable impact. From your first assignment, you’ll own outcomes, lead people, and make decisions that matter.
Your career path
Internship
Preview the program through a summer internship where you join the site leadership team, own strategic projects, and gain exposure to senior leadership. Learn the site’s processes, people, and operations firsthand. Successful interns may be considered for a return offer into the Operations Manager Pathways program.
Operations Manager
Upon joining full-time as an operations manager, you’ll lead a team and own operational outcomes at your assigned site. As you grow, your scope expands to managing teams of managers and influencing outcomes across your region or organization.
Senior Operations Manager
At this level, you lead an entire site or a major operational function, owning the performance, people, and processes that drive customer delivery at scale.
Where you'll lead
As a Pathways leader, you may be placed at one of a variety of site types across our operations network:
Fulfillment centers
Where customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped. These large-scale facilities operate around the clock and require leaders who can manage complex workflows and large teams.
Sortation centers
Where packages are organized and routed for efficient regional delivery. Leaders here manage teams across rotating shifts to keep packages moving accurately and on schedule.
Delivery stations
The last stop where packages are prepared for final delivery to customers’ doors. These sites require leaders who balance speed, accuracy, and team development.
Transportation hubs
Where freight moves between Amazon facilities, connecting the network end-to-end. Leaders at these sites manage logistics, coordination, and carrier relationships.
Amazon Air
Where packages move by air to enable faster delivery across long distances. Leaders here oversee the coordination of air cargo operations, managing teams that keep our air network running safely and on schedule.
Return processing centers
Where customer returns are received, evaluated, and processed. Leaders at these sites manage teams that ensure a seamless post-delivery experience, keeping the customer relationship strong even after the order arrives.
Where we hire
Pathways offers leadership opportunities across eight countries. You’ll be placed at Amazon operations sites within your country of hire, with placement determined by business needs and your preferences where possible.
- North America: United States, Canada
- South America: Brazil
- Europe: United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Italy
- Asia Pacific: India, Australia, Japan
Strong proficiency in the local language (CEFR B2 level or higher, equivalent to professional working fluency) is required for most countries, as effective communication is essential for these leadership positions.
